The following amendments to the zoning code have been proposed to help with implementation of the 2017 Comprehensive plan:
Create new mixed-use zoning district
Create new commercial overlay district
Amend the code to add detached single-family condominiums, new zoning district (R-4)
Allow microbreweries and micro-wineries in select districts
Regulate small cell technology on Township property and in right-of-way
Regulate AirBNBs in residential areas
Revised regulations to require street trees for all new development
Revised exterior lighting requirements in commercial districts to comply with Dark Sky(R) requirements
Relax drive-thru stacking requirements for banks and increase them for coffee shops
Include density bonuses for residential developments when certain criteria are met (i.e. greenspace dedication, etc.)

Reduce setbacks where possible
Consider adding a historic district as properties in Orange begin to age
Designate buffers around wooded areas and water bodies
Set designated growth areas
Set design standards that take natural features into consideration
Require developers to practice conservation development by clustering structures and setting aside 20% of continuous open space
Require low impact development strategies
Require that there is a no net-loss of wetlands within the Township
Encourage the use of impermeable surfaces and green infrastructure through incentives
Require that all trees removed during construction be replanted or replaced with trees that are similar in size or larger
Require that all trees removed from riparian setbacks be replaced in accordance with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency’s Permit mitigation requirement
Rezone 1 to 2 acres of land near the Orange Bridge Park to Commercial or Mixed-Use
Appropriately rezone site locations selected for new gateway features
